As someone who spends long hours at a desk, I’ve always been conscious of the toll it takes on my body. That’s why I decided to experiment with a standing desk, and let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer. Initially, the idea of standing for hours seemed daunting, but as I eased into it, I discovered a world of benefits.
Now, as I stand at my desk designing away, I feel more energized, focused, and productive than ever before as I seem to burn a bit more calories ( once in a while I do move around this or that side) The physical benefits are undeniable – no more slouching, no more backaches. Why when things are uploading or downloading, I try out free stretching exercises next to my table which is satisfying in itself! But it’s the mental clarity and sense of literally on my toes, that truly keeps me hooked.
Sure, I keep a chair handy for those moments when I want to take a brief seat, but I find myself gravitating back to standing, drawn to the sense of stable on my feet, it brings to my work. It’s become more than just a preference; adapting to this lifestyle choice.
As I reflect on my journey with a standing desk, one thing is clear – I’m never going back to the only sitting option. Standing has become my new norm, and I couldn’t be happier about it.
